Technological University of Panama (UTP) is the state institution of major hierarchy in what to top scientific technological education it refers in Panama.
It arises
from the old Faculty of Engineering of the University of Panama, which in 1975
happened to be the Technical Institute and, before the need of a new model of
University, one transforms into the Technological University of Panama by means
of the Law 18 of August 13, 1981. On October 9, 1984 the Technological
University of Panama organizes definitively by means of the Law 17. The Law 57
of July 26, 1996 realizes modifications and additions to the law 17 of 1984.
The
delivery to the professionals' nation is given without interruption from the
Promotion of 1981. Nowadays this Upper House of Studies has classified more
than 43,000 professionals who with his knowledge, skills and aptitudes
contribute with the development of the Republic of Panama.

created with the governmental, private and social sectors of Panama, allows to
the UTP to support an academic, updated offer and to contribute efficiently
with the technological and social development of the country. On the other hand
the link developed with prestigious academic institutions, of investigation , organizations
and companies of other countries, it allows to assure his successful insertion

educational offer, demonstrates the institutional growth. Nowadays 116 careers are
given in the different levels, as it continues: 2 Doctorates, 64 Masters and
Postgraduates, 1 Professorship, 18 careers Engineering, 21 careers Technician's
intermediate title, 3 Other Careers, 1 career in Technology and 6 Technical
careers. As for the demand the same has increased of 5,735 students in 1981 up
to reaching 17,666 in 2011. It possesses an educational plant of 1,529
teachers, 30% full-time and 1,742 administrative officers.
The UTP is
a national leader in investigation of the area engineering; it uses as center
of reference and survey in technology.
